Porto is a relaxed, oversized sweater with a circular yoke and bands of double moss stitch and reverse stocking stitch.

Yarn and colours
Sportlicious is a soft, smooth sport weight (5-ply) yarn that shows off the textured stitches. It’s 100% extrafine superwash merino, with 280 metres per 100 g skein.
Choose from seven Weathered Coast colours: Kelp, Port Wine, Shell Cove, Petrol, Nebula, Stone and Cinder.
Skill level and needles
Intermediate. The pattern uses knitting in the round, yoke shaping and knit-and-purl texture. Recommended needles are 3.75 mm (US 5) and 3.5 mm (US 4), or sizes needed to achieve gauge.
The story behind Porto
I started knitting Porto while travelling through Portugal in 2018 and finished it in the city that gave it its name. The textured bands were inspired by a photograph of a traditional Whitby sweater in Gladys Thompson’s knitting book.
